Marinus Drulman (under a pseudonym of M. de Jongere) was a student of de Art Academy in Rotterdam. He became widely known throughout his work of harbor views in the ’50s and ’60s during the development of Rotterdam world harbor nr. 1. His fame was not limited to The Netherlands. The Greek shipping magnate Aristoteles Onassis once ordered 28 paintings; on each painting a ship of his entire fleet.
Nowadays, lots of his work is in possession of the urban museum of Kampen, The Netherlands.
