My appreciation for design developed over the years as I grew older. My preference for the beauty of minimalistic furniture and modern interior designs became manifest once I truly understood the true meaning of “let it go” and really felt it. The designs of European (Bauhaus) architects have taken control of me. The simplicity, the technical (im)possibilities, the choices for materials and the passion for an item, which we nowadays label as “design” established this love.
The designs of amongst others Marcel Breuer, Gerrit Rietveld, C.E. Jeanneret-Gris (Le Corbusier) and Ludwig M. van der Rohe instantly became master pieces like Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven and Sweet Child o’mine.
